AMD HD 6670 - First Data

After the release of the graphics card series Radeon HD 6700 , has started to get the first details on the upcoming mid-range GPUs low . We talk about the HD 6670 will provide a little more power than its predecessor, the HD 5670, based in Redwood core. The HD 6670 incorporates the core Turks and based on the same manufacturing process TSMC's 40nm, but provides 480 stream processors, 24 texture units (TMUs), 16 ROPs, and 6 other SIMD, compared with 400 SPs, 20 TMUs, 8 ROPs, and 4 engines available in the core SIMD Redwood. Turks keep VLIW5 shader model, and that may be used in conjunction with the IGP of Llano (also VLIW5).

The HD 6670 has 1GB of GDDR5 memory with a 128-bit bus running 4.000MHz troops, which would give a total bandwidth of 64GB / s. The core rate has risen up to 800MHz. Moreover, the Turks core also provides a new UVD 3.0 decoding engine of AMD, which enables the acceleration of 3D videos and other new features. About the release date still no details, but should come in the first quarter of 2011. For now, AMD launched the next closest is the dual-GPU graphics, Radeon HD 6990 (Antilles) . The APU

Llano AMD Fusion will be launched in June this year, and integrate from 2 to 4 cores with a graphics core with an intermediate performance between the AMD Radeon HD 5500 and Radeon HD 5600. AMD plans to reestrensar in Llano processors AMD technology named Dual Graphics Technology, which combines the graphical power of the IGP Beavercreek de Llano, GPUs with Turks. Dual AMD Graphics Technology will go beyond the current Hybrid CrossFireX, as well as combining the power of the IGP + GPU to improve 3D performance will also improve the power of GPGPU computing (OpenCL).
